Perfectly Seared Salmon

You barely know how to boil water but you’re looking to cook an impressive dinner. If you can work your stove, you can cook this meal. By searing the salmon fillets in the pan before moving them to the oven, you create a restaurant quality level piece of salmon.

Ingredients

 Salmon fillet

Olive oil

Salt & Pepper

1 lemon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  2. Pat salmon fillet dry with a paper towel. Rub olive oil on both sides of fillet. Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper to each side.

  3. Before putting salmon in the pan, allow the pan to heat up at medium-high heat. Once pan is hot, add the fillet to the pan and sear for two minutes on each side (do not touch the fillet other than to flip it). Once both sides have been seared, move fillet to the preheated oven and cook for eight minutes.

  4. Once fillet is done remove from oven and add a squeeze of fresh lemon.
